Billabong Retreat is a busy award winning health and wellness retreat centre situated in Maraylya, 30 minutes from Castle Hill and only 15 minutes from the North West growth areas of Rouse Hill and Box Hill.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced GM to oversee all aspects of running this busy retreat centre, delivering an exceptional experience to our guests and overseeing a sustainable growth agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, manage and schedule all of approximately 40 staff across all departments in office, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, wellness spa and yoga teaching ensuring the staff love their work and deliver exceptional service to our guests
  • Oversee all administration of the business including the various online software systems
  • Ensure the business meets all health & safety requirements
  • Manage the expenditure of all departments to within or below budget
  • Constantly quality control and improve all aspects of the experience
  • Develop a growth agenda with new areas of the business such as corporate day retreats, retail product range, catering, food delivery and e-commerce
  • Ensure the business continues to reduce its environmental footprint


  • At least five years experience managing and inspiring staff across multi disciplinary departments
  • Experience at complex staff scheduling
  • IT and social media savy
  • Experience managing P&L budgets
  • A commitment to health & wellness
  • A dedication to exceptional quality control
  • Already live within 30 minutes of the retreat (planned relocations not accepted)
  • Be prepared to have some regular weekend and evening presence
