Tory has just finished reading ‘Magnesium, the Miracle Mineral, by Sandra Cabot

Reading this opened my eyes to the incredible healing powers of magnesium. Most of us are aware of magnesium as a mineral to assist with muscle cramps and heart health. I am surprised to learn that the list of conditions that can be helped by magnesium goes on and on, yet unfortunately a large number of adults and children are magnesium deficient. This seems to be undiagnosed by medical science as doctors are not trained at university to recognize the symptoms of deficiency and testing magnesium is not a common or accurate, as only 1% is found in the blood.

Magnesium is essential for hundreds of chemical reactions that take place in the body, with recent findings also indicating that it offers a huge spectrum of health benefits including the regulation of headaches, stress, depression, anxiety, restful sleep, CFS, Fibromyalgia …and on and on.

The current RDI is about 400 mg’s a day but a deficiency may call for a lot more. It can be supplemented as capsule or powder. It can also be found as an oil (to spray on topically) or salts for the bath. The magnesium is efficiently absorbed by the skin and taken to the area needed most. There is a lot of information online, always go for quality and magnesium chloride seems to be the most effective.
